I have taught 6th grade Language Arts for 24 years here at Riverside and received my degree from Mesa State. I am excited to be helping our readers and writers continue to grow. I was born in Jefferson City, Missouri, and lived in Missouri until I finished college. I have two sisters and a twin brother. I am very close to my family and like to spend time and eat with them:). Most of my family still lives in Missouri, but I do have a sister who lives in Vail and cousins who live just around the corner from me in New Castle. I love living in Colorado and am so happy to have my Riverside family.

I am in my 3rd year teaching 6th grade math after 13 years in 8th grade math and all of these years have been at Riverside! Go Vikings! I grew up on a wheat farm and cattle ranch in eastern Montana. After moving to Colorado, I fell in love with whitewater rafting and ice hockey, and established my little family. I am now a widow with 2 young kids: one at KSE and one in daycare.

Hello, Vikings! I'm so excited to be joining the sixth grade team for the 2022-23 school year! I have been a paraprofessional here, at Riverside, for the past five years. This will be my first year teaching sixth grade science. I truly hope to develop a passion for learning and science with the upcoming middle school crew. I moved to Colorado eight years ago from Pennsylvania. I fell in love with the mountains and spend as much time in them as possible. Ms. Michele Howard
Hi!! My name is Ms. Michele Howard. I’ve been teaching Social Studies for 11 years and Special Education before that for 8 years here at Riverside. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling psychology both from the University of Northern Colorado. I’m a 7 year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and worked in the non-profit sector before teaching. I’m a proud mom of 3 adult children who live in various parts of Colorado. I love spending time with my family and friends, traveling, writing, reading, and creating art.

Mr. Cole Campbell
Hi, I’m Cole Campbell and I teach 6th and 7th grade Social Studies. My family (including one dog and two cats) have lived in New Castle for the last twenty years and we love to call this place home. I enjoy the wonderful outdoor activities here that this area has to offer! You can find me skiing, hiking or playing music in my time off. I grew up overseas in Brazil and love to travel and see new cultures and places. After I received my degree in History at the University of Colorado in Boulder, I taught at various schools in Colorado and abroad such as Korea, China and Venezuela.
